Simone Roche MBE founded Northern PoWEr Women in 2015 with a mission to create greater visibility, connection and opportunity for women in the workplace. She also founded the Northern PoWEr Women Awards, now recognised as the largest celebration of gender equality in Europe, recognising role models, trailblazers and advocates working towards a more gender equal world. Simone was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2018 for services to gender equality.

Grown from the humble roots of Northern PoWEr Women, We Are PoWEr brings together a growing community of over 120,000 people across sectors, genders and socio-economic backgrounds. Our purpose is to connect people, create opportunities and amplify impact, accelerating gender equality, wider inclusion and social mobility to create a brighter future for all.

Today, We Are PoWEr works with individuals, communities and organisations through podcasts, webinars, education programmes, partnerships, and events that inspire connection, development and change. Our ecosystem includes initiatives that recognise achievement, support future talent and bring our community together to share ideas, insight and impact.

Through this collective approach, We Are PoWEr has generated over £2.2 million in social value and continues to grow a movement of people and organisations committed to creating positive change.
