We hosted one of our "Power Up Live" sessions at Convention of the North in the famous Royal Armouries, Leeds on 29th February 2024, it marked a significant departure from the traditional conference experience for both the students and our mentors! We set ourselves the task of convening a "Power Up Live" like no other during the conferences lunch time break.

"Power Up Live COTN" was more than just an event; it was a powerful movement towards a more inclusive and connected future. By providing a platform for young voices to be heard and engaging with key political figures and mentors from diverse sectors, the event underscored the importance of collective efforts in nurturing and supporting the leaders of tomorrow. This initiative showcased the transformative power of dialogue, mentorship and political engagement in shaping a future that reflects the aspirations and addresses the challenges of the next generation.

The Power Collective CIC, in partnership with Barclays, hosted the Power Up Live event, a gathering designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry for students from across the UK. The event, held at Radbroke Hall in Knutsford, brought together 65 students from universities such as Salford University, Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Manchester, UA92, and the University of Liverpool. These students were eager to gain insights into the fintech sector and were given a unique opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals from Barclays who were keen to impart their knowledge and experience.

I got the chance to speak to numerous business mentors who gave me tips for my next semester module project. It was great to connect with new people and to hear all about their life experiences. I came away feeling really inspired and positive about the future.
