Last week, our CEO Simone Roche MBE had the privilege of meeting the King at Windsor Castle during the celebration for the King's Awards for Enterprise. This prestigious event brought together some of the brightest minds and most successful businesses from across the UK, all under the elegant and historic roof of Windsor Castle. The event was dedicated to recognising and celebrating the remarkable achievements of enterprises that have made significant contributions to the UK's economy and society.
During the event, Simone had the incredible honour of speaking with the King and took the opportunity to present him with a Northern Power Women pin badge, a token of commitment to gender equality in business.
Upon receiving the pin badge, the King's eyes twinkled with amusement. "I don't think I qualify," he said with a smile.
Simone couldn't help but laugh, replying with genuine enthusiasm, "Yes, you do! Just look at the female businesses here tonight at the celebration for the King's Awards for Enterprise."
The King and Simone shared a hearty laugh, a brief yet meaningful exchange that underscored the importance of recognising and supporting women in business. His acknowledgment of the pin badge symbolised broader acceptance and encouragement of gender diversity in the entrepreneurial world.
The laughter shared over the Northern Power Women pin badge is a memory Simone will cherish forever, serving as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and advocacy in all areas of enterprise.
The evening continued with networking among some of the most innovative and driven business leaders in the country. The King's Awards for Enterprise highlight the incredible contributions of businesses across various sectors, from international trade to sustainable development. It is inspiring to see so many female-led businesses being celebrated.
We encourage continued support for and upliftment of female entrepreneurs, recognising their invaluable contributions to the economy and society. Sometimes, a simple gesture, like a pin badge, can spark a conversation that brings about meaningful change.
As we move forward, let's celebrate and empower women in business, remembering the unforgettable evening at Windsor Castle that highlighted the power of unity, recognition, and shared laughter.
